Apples Drying in the Oven

As the apples are drying in the oven, the smell in my kitchen is amazing. I'm thinking about how I'm going to use them; the pieces I couldn't use are going outside for the animals and compost.
The circles are drying on bakers racks. I sprinkled them with cinnamon so it gets adsorbed into the slices.

Apple ornaments will look great on any tree inside or out. Outside the birds may help themselves to some of them for winter food. If you hang them outside, you can combine them with my Peanut Butter Pine Cones idea.

A table centerpiece for Thanksgiving is what I am planning for some these apples too. Because they are dried, I may be able to reuse them from the centerpiece to Christmas ornaments later.
My mother always sad "Waste not, Want not", she meant if you found a way to recycle something you would have to go buy more of something else later.
